City Soles Interviews ARAE Designer
This winter is my fourth consecutive season with City Soles. They started selling my first product, knit hoods, when I was a shy sophomore in college at Columbia in Chicago. I remember walking to get my hair cut at Kelly Cardenas for the first time (where I still go, Dani is my girl!) and passing this cute shoe store with intentions to go inside after Kelly's. Upon looking around I saw familiar looking yarn in some of their scarves. I checked the tag and sure enough it said 'Made in Chicago'. So I thought to myself.. okay thats cool they support local artists, I'm a local artist! I talked to the manager, Tarri, and told her about my hoods and she told me to bring them by. We set up a meeting and she took everything I brought. From then on I've been testing all my new product in their store at the amazing location of 6 corners in Chicago's Wicker Park/Bucktown. I've sold everything from knit hoods, silk shibori tie dye scarves, and now my shibori tie dye wool collection. I couldn't be more grateful for the beginning to a great business relationship and to keep the good vibes going! Here are some fun interviews of me with City Soles TV (not including the first one ever because that's just embarrassing). Filmed by Indirap Productions.
